What to Expect When Wedding Dress Shopping During the COVID-19 Pandemic

One thing is for certain, 2020 has changed everything we thought we knew — Especially when it comes to weddings. The good news? At LRB, we are committed to celebrating you just the same as we always have! We want LRB to be a space to step away from all the Covid stress that comes with getting married in this time. You are still a bride and you still deserve the wedding you’ve been dreaming of. We’ll stand firm in your corner on that one and we’ll be here to celebrate you when the time comes!

With engagement season upon us, that means the time to book your appointment will be here before you know it. The LRB team is here to make this experience as easy & seamless on you as possible and we promise to make your time with us just as magical as you’ve always imagined.

Our team has spent the last several months perfecting our appointment processes listed below so you and your entourage can come in knowing you will have a fabulous, fun, and safe time in our boutique!

STAY SAFE

We want to keep you and your loved ones safe; as well as ours. Please help us do this by wearing a mask and washing your hands- we will be doing the same! If you have any special health concerns that you would like addressed please let us know, we are happy to accommodate any special needs!

We have completely separate suites for our brides + their guests. Our appointments are staggered so different groups should never be entering the store together or shopping the gowns at the same time. This means social distancing between groups naturally happens and we can focus on YOU!

BRING A (SMALL) SUPPORT SYSTEM

We know it sounds super exciting to bring your 8 best friends and 6 closest family members. But, if there’s a silver lining from Covid, its this. We’ve had to be firm in limiting the guest count to 4 this year. And guess what? We’ve seen so many brides truly able to celebrate with their very closest people: the ones who truly want to lift her up with beautiful support. The moments have been sweeter, emotions deeper, and celebrations more genuine than ever.

So, we suggested bringing your very closest the day you try on gowns, but then what? When your gown arrives to us, you get to come back for an appointment that is just as special (maybe even more so) as the first one. This day is oh-so-sweet, because its the first time you’re trying on your actual dress. And if there is anyone who couldn’t make it to the first appointment, this is the day to bring them. It's a whole second round of celebration and smiles, and trust us when we say it can be more emotional than the first.

If you can’t fit everyone you would like in your in-person group, we have a special suite equipped with a TV screen that will allow you to share this experience with virtually anyone you could want via Facetime! Just let us know ahead of time that you would like to use that area.

ORDER TIMES & ALTERATIONS

Did you know every single LRB dress is completely custom? Nothing we carry is off the rack and because of that, we can make the dress of your dreams a stunning reality! We’re lucky enough to work with some of the most trustworthy designers out there. Throughout Covid, our design houses have rallied behind us to make sure every single gown made it to the bride with plenty of time for alterations. Let us assure you that you are in good hands when you allow us to dress you for your wedding. We work with local seamstresses who are truly what makes our world go ‘round. They have also been impacted because of so many rescheduled weddings, so we suggest for brides to allow a little extra time for alterations right now so seamstresses can keep their Covid protocols in place. All that means is you can try on dresses sooner rather than later…and when has that ever been a bad thing!?

In the midst of all the changes we have undergone & overcome this year, one thing we know that will never change is the joy & excitement we get from getting to share the moment you find the dress of your dreams with you. We are so thankful for all of our LRB brides, both past and future!
